Our Story

There's a saying we've lived by since we started Allenfort & Associates: the expensive way is the cheap way, and the hard way is usually the easy way. It sounds counterintuitive until you've spent twice as much time or money fixing a problem that a proper solution would have prevented in the first place.

Our work in mission-critical radio systems began in 1999, when our principal started building deep expertise in ASTRO 25 systems through technical documentation and system-level consulting. Allenfort & Associates, Inc. was incorporated in 2014, formalizing more than a decade of established client relationships and growing expertise.

Beginning in 2001, we expanded into technical and end-user training delivery; a practice we have continued and deepened for more than two decades. Over the years that followed, we grew further into system design, deployment, Radio Management hosting, concierge technical support, and deployment: covering virtually every dimension of modern radio network operations.

Recent training engagements include a bespoke technician certification program developed for a major national radio dealer whose technicians achieved a 97% first-time pass rate on an industry communications technician certification exam.  This reflects what's possible when training is built around real operational knowledge rather than esoteric theories of learning or curriculum design.  These have their place, but they can't replace subject matter experts deep in the loop.

We operate as a specialized consultancy. Every engagement is led by senior professionals with direct, hands-on experience on the specific systems involved. We tell our clients what they need to hear, not what they want to hear. We treat every customer, contractor, and partner the way we'd want to be treated ourselves. And when something isn't working, we start with the basics: cables, connections, and power before we reach for complexity.

Our clients include federal agencies, major metropolitan public safety organizations, state government entities, utilities, and large industrial operators throughout North America. They come to us because standard vendor support channels aren't enough — and because when something matters, experience is not optional.

We are based in the Chicago area.
